Mar 19 Chenille cutting and stitching techniques with results. Demo by Millie Burgheimer.
Apr 16 Easy Patternless Jacket construction by Linda Brush.

Linda Brush will lead you through the process of constructing a very versatile jacket custom-made to fit your body. Using your own measurements and a fun piece of flowing fabric, you will love making or wearing this garment!

Linda has taught many Patternless Wardrobe classes for creating tops, skirts, culottes, or jackets. The wardrobe instructions require no pattern and only a 9" paper plate and tape measure as a reference. The jacket is a perfect serger project as it offers finished seams and you can wear it home right from class.

Linda's class handout has been modified to illustrate only the jacket directions. To download those instructions in a PDF file, Click here.

If you can't access the instructions, contact the NG Leader, Ann Williams and she can bring extra copies to class.

Materials needed:

  • Most ladies like jacket lengths about even with their fingertips; just below the fullest part of the hip; a kimono line. Fabric requirements are: Two times the desired length of a jacket plus 12 inches. Also, 1/2 yard of contrast fabric, if desired.
  • Bring basic serger supplies, matching threads, and cutting tools. Everything you need to know is listed on the handout mentioned above.
